The Goodman Manufacturing Company L.P. was founded in 1982, by Harold V. Goodman. At that time, Goodman's focus was on producing and manufacturing flexible air ducts and plastic blade registers. This was the first step on the road to success for this world-renowned company.
Goodman had actually been in the air conditioning business since 1954 and clearly recognized the importance of these systems. Goodman's goal was to produce high-quality products at a low cost to the consumer. In 1982, Goodman purchased Janitrol and entered the market as a manufacturer of central air conditioners and heat pumps. This was the launch of one of the most successful operations in HVAC industry history.
Today, Goodman is based in Houston, Texas. Goodman's three modern, high-technology facilities total over 1.2 million square feet, with locations in Houston, Dayton and Fayetteville, Tennessee. The business has seen steady growth since its initial opening and remains a family-run business dedicated to the vision of its founder.
