Bionaire models are known for its high-powered HEPA filters—one of the most powerful in the industry. The flipside of this is that Bionaire is the target of consumer complaints concerning the noise of its units. Be sure that you listen to your Bionaire product before you purchase. If you're sensitive to both air pollution and noise pollution, this might not be the tradeoff you want to make. More recent Bionaire models have included multi-speed settings that allow you to choose your own noise level.

The Bionaire BAP1250 Air Purifier features a HEPA filter that captures 99.97 percent of particles and a carbon filter that reduces odors and neutralizes some key toxins. These also come with a handy alert system telling you when it's time for replacement. In addition, this purifier has four adjustable settings with a built-in timer. Recommended for rooms of 450 square feet or less, each unit has a suggested retail price of $219.95 but can often be found for less online.
The Bionaire BAP825-U HEPA Tower Air Purifier comes with a remote control, among other features. It also has three speed settings and an electronic ionizer to increase the air purification performance.
The Bionaire BAP422 Air Purifier draws air through the filter with typical HEPA suction. It also has three other stages of filtration, including a carbon filter that removes most odors from the air and a built-in ionizer that neutralizes many gases and toxins. Suitable for smaller rooms (250 square feet or less), it also has three speed settings, including a sleep mode. This purifier is ideal for asthmatics.
The Bionaire BAP1500-U HEPA Air Purifier has a wide range of features, including easy maintenance. The filter never needs replacing; you only have to vacuum them out once in a while. One other nifty feature is a remote control. On the negative side, this unit does not offer true HEPA filtration, so there is no guaranteed filtration efficiency.
