Battery Chargers

Everything you need to know

The battery is one of mankind's all-time great inventions, and the rechargeable battery and battery charger should rank right up there alongside it. Battery chargers are so widespread these days that you may not even realize you own one - but the truth is, a battery charger doesn’t have to be the heavy box we envision from days gone by. Really, every time you plug your cell phone and digital camera into a wall socket to recharge it, you're actually using a battery charger.

In our review and study of battery chargers, we want to help charge your mind with all the information you’ll need on the subject. We'll provide you with a section on why you need a battery charger, which will include pages on how a battery charger works along with a glossary to help you learn the terminology used when dealing with these devices. We'll also give you information on how to use a charger and how to choose the right battery charger for your specific needs.

Battery chargers may be simple and easy devices to use, but some of them can also be very dangerous. To find out how to safely use a battery charger, make sure you read our battery charger safety guide.

If you want to learn what type of battery chargers are on the market, take a look at our section on types of battery chargers. In these pages we'll give you the lowdown on nickel based battery chargers, along with lithium ion chargers and lead acid units. We'll also explain how ultra-fast chargers and solar battery chargers work.
